The first photogram I made, I used a combination of five different materials which I thought might look nice in the photogram. I had a little glass horse ornament, small cut out of some metal mesh, a metal teddy bear key ring, a little pin and a very slightly translucent perfume bottle. I arranged these on top of my photographic paper in a fashion which I thought would look interesting in the final outcome, overlapping transparent objects and positioning them in the frame. Going over the enlarger I set the aperture to 2.8 (the highest exposure) and left it under the light for 1 second. After removing the photographic paper I wrote my name, the aperture and how long it was under the light on the back before letting it develop.
For my first time creating a photogram I was very impressed with the outcome, the mesh that I had placed under the glass ornament became distorted in the image because of its strange shape manipulating the shadow and light as it passed through, I thought this looked nice and I waned to replicate and experiment more with this in my next photogram. I also noticed that some of the less translucent objects came out almost looking bleached white with very little detail especially the metal teddy bear key ring, however some of the interesting design on the perfume bottle did come through.

To try and combat the lack of detail in the the less translucent objects I decided to increase the aperture to 5.6 so that the light was less intense, and left it under for a total of 3 seconds to see if this made the glass ornament more visible because of its transparency, in better detail. I used similar objects to my first experiment, keeping the glass ornament and mesh, getting rid of the pin, teddy bear key ring and less translucent perfume bottle, for a more translucent perfume bottle which had some really nice designs and shapes on it which i thought might come out better than the last, and a translucent, plastic, biro pen.
This photogram in my opinion turned out much nicer than the last. I believe that the aperture of 5.6, and exposure time of 3 seconds was ideal for this specific photogram. I think this because the perfume bottle on the far left shows a really nice pattern with the image looking distorted towards the side due to its irregular shape I think looks really interesting and nice. The transparency of the pen and glass ornament also works really well in being able too se the now distorted image of the metal mesh beneath it creating something which I would consider a successful photogram.
